hold my paper plate

I do a lot of shopping because I need food, like, ALL THE TIME. It’s crazy. I eat it and it just goes away. POOF! No more food! Then I buy more, and it disappears again! It’s crazy!

As I was shopping for food, I saw some paper plate holders. They were plastic and in lots of fun colors. But I thought to myself, what is the point of a paper plate holder?

I mean, I understand the idea behind them. It’s in the name. I’m not THAT oblivious to the obvious. It holds a paper plate. But WHY do you need that?

I know that I don’t go too many (zero) parties, so I don’t use a lot of paper plates. I HAVE used them in the past. I’m guessing that the paper plate holder is there to give support to the paper plate. Especially with foods that might drip through paper.

You use paper plates to avoid any extra dish washing later. BUT, if you have these paper plate holders that are getting messy, you’ll STILL have to clean them.

Why not just use regular plates in the first place?! I don’t understand! You still have to wash the dishes. You probably already have dishes. Why spend the money on paper plates AND paper plate holders to do the job of something you already have?!

I have this issue swirling in my head because I truly do NOT understand it. I cannot figure out any proper reason these exist.

Is it merely decorative? Just to have the neighbors look at your party and say, “Wow! Look at those colorfully adorned paper plates! Our parties are never that fancy!”

If that's the case, why stop there? Why not make paper cup holders? Or paper napkin holders?

You could use the same cup over and over again. And when you wipe your hands from your messy food, the napkin won’t flop all over the place. (Yes, that's a problem I have.)

I think I’ll get some paper forks and then make a pretty plastic paper fork holder!

I’m off to colorfully adorn paper products.

Enjoy Everything.

get your groove on and your boson

If you love science, put your hands in the air and wave them like you just don't show any emotions!

There was a big announcement the other day letting us know that the Higgs boson most likely exists. One of the physicists is quoted as saying, "It is very much a smoking duck that walks and quacks like the Higgs."

Which pretty much means...well...I don't know what that means. Because that statement makes NO sense. That is why I love it and have said it 30 times today in response to unrelated questions.

You: "How's the day going? Working hard or hardly working?"

Me: "It is very much a smoking duck that walks and quacks like the Higgs."

You: "Riiiiiiight..."

Other You: "How about those fireworks last night? Pretty sweet, right?!"

Me: "It is very much a smoking duck that walks and quacks like the Higgs."

Other You: "I heard that!"

Cleary one of you understands me better than the other you.

Basically, all you need to know is that we want the Higgs boson to exist because if it does, it helps to explain how the universe formed. If it doesn't exist, my theory of "I made it when I was bored and was playing with quarks" becomes the prominent theory.

Hawking keeps telling me that my theory is dumb. I tell him to stick his head in a black hole. (Get it! That's funny because he writes about black holes! ...it's funny to some people...)

Oh! BTW! I broke another plate yesterday! What's up with that?! It is very much a smoking duck that walks and quacks like the Higgs.

I'm off to buy new plates.

Enjoy Everything.

the colors are everywhere

I broke a plate (sad face). Or I guess I could emoticon it. :(

I don't think I ever broke a plate before! Glasses...yeah...plenty. But that's the glasseseses fault! They make them all glassy and stuff! I mean, really, what did they expect?

That's why I use plastic tumblers. I don't know why they're called that, but they do great tumbles! They NEVER break. AND they are bright colors! I like the green and orange ones. Green for my green beverages and orange for my orange ones.

I actually only have green and orange beverages. This is 168% true.

So I broke my plate while I was washing it. I think maybe I just washed it too much and wore it down. Or because I dropped it in the sink. Either way, it is now two half-plates.

You know what's cool? A kaleidoscope. Wow! That's a hard word to spell.

Oh...I thought of that because I was thinking of putting plate pieces into one. That would be awesome! Kaleidoscopes are really pretty. I would like to have one.

OOOOH! I would like a rocketship that is powered by a kaleidoscope!

Kaleidoscope Rocket!

That would be a good band name.

It would also be a good name for a unicorn.

I'm off to buy a unicorn and a rocket.

Enjoy Everything.
